Jay
Jay has been in the auto service industry for over 35 years. His first job out of high school was in a Pennsylvania wrecking yard, where he reveled in taking cars apart and learning about them from the inside out. Over the years, Jay has taken a more profound interest in car repair, developing a special like for Japanese makes. After settling in Seattle, he became an ASE Master Certified Technician in advanced engine repair and performance, exhaust, brakes, electronic systems, suspension and steering, heating and air conditioning, and manual and automatic transmissions.
Jay’s biggest source of pride is Superior Auto Service. Over the years he has worked to make the auto repair shop successful, and strives daily to uphold the service commitment and quality that form the basis of his work ethic. In a world where mechanics are considered shifty, Jay is trying to change that image one car repair at a time. His happiest moments are when a customer comments on his team’s professionalism.
When he’s not working on cars and worrying about his shop, Jay is with his wife of 27 years and their two sons. He is often working on home projects, boating, camping, hiking, or fishing.
Kyle
Kyle is our Service Advisor extraordinaire and got his start in the auto industry while in high school, working part time in a warehouse for an auto parts wholesale company. Eventually that warehouse job led to Kyle graduating to national accounts roll. Kyle’s training comes from the 20 years of experience in the automotive industry and includes working as a back counter parts specialist at a Chevrolet service department. Kyle also has a degree in psychology and criminal justice. Both of our Service Advisors (Barb and Kyle) provide a bridge between customer and our technicians, working with Technicians directly to coordinate our schedule and workload. Kyle is described by friends as positive, clear and knowledgeable, and eager to help. When Kyle isn’t working, he can be found spending time with his wife and two kids, along with their extended family. He enjoys sports with his son, golf, disc golf, bowling, baseball, and keeping his yard in tiptop shape.
Barb
Barb is our Service Advisor extraordinaire and got her start at Grease Monkey when she was 15. She also had an older brother who wanted to make sure she knew how to change her own oil and check her tires before she learned to drive. Barb’s training has been strictly on the job over the past 20 years and includes her time at Sears and Point S. Barb is described by her close friends as “the best friend anyone could ask for who would give you the shirt off her back who also happens to be kind, compassionate, down to earth, and loving of all things. Outside of work Barb is a mother of two girls, five cats and two dogs and spends most of her time taking care of them. She also has a love of plants and enjoys crafting, gardening, and woodworking as well.
Chris
Chris got his quest for everything automotive from a young age while working on cars with his dad in San Diego. His father showed him the basics then, after graduating high school, he joined the navy and learned about tools and aviation mechanics. It was then he was hooked on fixing anything mechanical. Chris is ASE Certified in steering and suspension and brakes and was certified in the Washington emission program when it was still in use. Chris has also taken part in training for mechanical variable valve timing and lift and gasoline direct injection. Chris’s favorite part about working at Superior is the energy of the shop and our fun working environment. When Chris isn’t working, he’s having fun dirt bike riding, boating, fishing, or camping. At home, Chris has three kids including two boys and a girl, along with his wife and friend of 20 years, their dog, three cats, three koi, one catfish and several goldfish.

Mark
Mark got his start in the automotive world as a gas station attendant, pumping gas and changing oil back in the early 80s. He spent two years at Clover Park Vo-Tech in Tacoma where he gained some of his automotive knowledge. After completing school, he moved to Texas and spent time working in several repair shops before moving back to Seattle where he worked for a local tire shop for nearly 30 years. Mark has been with us now since November of 2021 and we’re thrilled to have him. Mark is ASE certified in Suspension, Brakes, Heating & A/C, Electrical and as a Service Advisor. Mark’s favorite thing about working at Superior is the steady work and his great team of coworkers. When not at work, Mark can be found river fishing or spending quality time with his family, including 6 kids aging from 12 to 35 and 4 grandchildren!
Stefano
Stefano got his start in mechanics working on and rebuilding old BMW motorcycles and is a key employee here at Superior Auto Service. He is responsible for most of our oil changes. He is the “go-to” guy for help in the shop when one of our technicians needs an extra hand. He also helps keep the shop clean and organized. Needless to say, we’d be unorganized and a bit of a mess without him! Stefano’s favorite part of working at Superior is the honesty and integrity we have. When not working Stefano can be found working on one of his BMW cars, vintage BMW motorcycles, photography and graphic design.
